Splendid Constructions

Privacy

What this system collects when you sign on, and why.

Who is collecting it

Splendid Constructions. This system records who is on our sites so that we can meet our duties under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) — knowing who to account for in an evacuation, showing that workers were inducted, and reporting notifiable incidents to WorkSafe Queensland.

What we collect

  • Your name and mobile number. The mobile is verified once by SMS and is how the system recognises you on later visits.
  • Your employer and whether you are a worker or a visitor.
  • An email address, if you give one. It is optional.
  • Your emergency contact — a name and phone number, so we can reach someone if you are hurt.
  • Your construction induction (white card) number, recorded as a declaration. We do not check it against a registry.
  • Your signature and fit-for-work declaration at sign-on.
  • The time and place of each sign-on and sign-off, including your device’s location at that moment, to confirm you were at the gate.
  • Your induction answers and whether you passed.
  • Hazard and incident reports you submit, including any photos you take.

About location

Location is captured only at the moment you tap sign-on or sign-off, to confirm the sign-on happened at the site rather than from the highway. This system does not track you continuously, does not run in the background, and does not know where you are between those taps or after you leave.

Who can see it

  • Splendid site supervisors and administrators, to run the site and the roll-call.
  • The principal contractor or site owner, where our contract or the WHS legislation requires us to show who was on site.
  • WorkSafe Queensland and other regulators, where the law requires it — for example after a notifiable incident.
  • Insurers and our legal advisers, if there is a claim or an investigation.

We do not sell this information, we do not share it for advertising, and it is never used to market anything to you.

How long we keep it

Attendance, induction and incident records are safety records: we keep them for as long as the WHS Act 2011 (Qld) and our record-keeping obligations require, which can be a number of years after the work finishes. Sign-in sessions and one-time SMS codes are deleted automatically once they expire.

Cookies

This system uses one strictly necessary cookie, to keep you signed in on your device so you do not have to verify by SMS on every visit. There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking anywhere in it. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

Security

The system is served over HTTPS only. Signature images and incident photos are not public files — every request for one goes through an authorisation check. Access is limited to the people who need it, and administrator actions are recorded in an audit log.

Access, correction and complaints

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact admin@splendidconstructions.com.au or 07 3129 0122. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
